Change is inevitable and very uncomfortable. Have you ever felt the fear of outgrowing a place, thing, or person you used to love so much?
Things that Causes Fear of Outgrowing
đ¸ Time Invested in that certain place, thing, or person.
đ¸Guilt or Grief - it might disappoint other people (including yourself) over the memories you enjoyed with it/them.
đ¸Worry or Disappointment - to be wandering in foreign places or sitch or venturing into the unknown.
đ¸ Having to deal with External Expectations.
As someone who romanticizes/values the idea of permanence, this is quite difficult to embrace. However, clinging to it out of obligation feels very restricting and unfulfilling.
Things to Remember about Outgrowing
đ¸ It doesn't mean you don't appreciate a place, thing, or person.
đ¸ Letting go and moving forward isn't an act of rejection or betrayal.
đ¸ Stepping out of your comfort zone opens new opportunities and experiences.
đ¸ It is never wrong to chase an environment that will inspire and support your growth.
đ¸ Pursuing a new place, thing, or person won't erase the significance of what came before it.
Outgrowing is a natural part of our development. As we continue to evolve, approaching it with gratitude for the lessons learned can be a great help in facing challenges and emotional complexities. Do not hold back on things that will allow you to feel more authentic about yourself! â¨
